The View500 directory and index search server is an Australian owned and developed solution. It has a blue chip customer base in Australia, Singapore and USA in Government, Defence & large corporate organisations. The View500 Directory Server consists of a range of capabilities that allow it to be deployed in a variety of industries, whilst meeting the specific industry needs. where Its high speed search capability delivers a world leading capability for customers. View500's implementation of the XML Enabled Directory (XED) standards is a world first, making View500 the only Directory Server to natively handle XML content. . Providing the capability to store and efficiently search XML data allows View500 to be used to support a variety of XML based solutions, including fine grained access control solutions using XACML.View500's XML support extends beyond the directory protocols to include the ebXML Registry standards as well.
View500 supports PKI matching rules and component matching for complex types, including XML and PKI syntaxes. Through the use of the PKI matching capabilities, View500 will process certificates faster and with less effort compared to competitor directories, making it ideal for PKI deployments.
In some customer implementations scalability normally becomes an issue as LDAP directory performance usually suffers as entries increase. Unlike other competitors View500 was however designed to cope with large size organizations business requirements and is scalable to tens of millions of entries in a single directory server.
View500 currently runs on Microsoft Windows (2000, 2003, XP, NT, Vista & 2008),SE3/SE4 Linux, IBM AIX & Solaris (up to v10).
View500 has been developed strictly adhering to open standards and it features support for the X.500, LDAP, XED and ACP133/ACP 145 Standards.
The current version for View500 is version 6.0 which was issued in mid 2006. The next release version 7.0 is expected to be released in Q2 2009. This will be a major release, complete with a new Administrative User Interface, better access tools, more support for emerging standards and a set of new features requested by key customers.
